Compact. Robust. Powerful.
The TERRA-PIT DJ 18 is one of the most powerful and productive compact drilling rigs in its class. Designed for demanding horizontal drilling in confined spaces, it combines maximum performance with compact dimensions and high cost-effectiveness.
Powered by a reliable 75 hp HATZ diesel engine the DJ 18 generates a pull and thrust force of up to 80 kN (8 tonnes) as well as a rotational torque of 3,000 Nm. With a flushing volume of 95 l/min and a maximum flushing pressure of 70 bar boreholes with diameters of up to 420 mm and lengths of up to 150 m can be achieved, depending on soil conditions.
The short installation time and low CO₂ footprint make the DJ 18 the ideal solution for modern infrastructure and pipeline construction projects. Thanks to its reduced noise level and optimized fuel consumption, the machine is particularly economical and environmentally friendly in operation.

The movable breakout device of the TERRA-PIT DJ 18 can be shifted backwards. This allows the reaming head and new pipe to be pulled directly back into the working pit. Disassembly is thus comfortable and safe within the pit, which reduces workload and significantly simplifies the construction site process.

The DJ 18 is available both as a short version (2.0 m) and as a long version (2.5 m). With a width of only 0.9 m, it is ideal for compact excavation pits and confined inner-city deployment locations.
The powerful hydraulic breakout device enables quick and safe loosening of drill rod connections even under high loads. With a clamping force of 11 tons and a breakout torque of 5,200 Nm, it ensures an efficient workflow and minimizes downtime on the construction site. For pipe pulling, the breakout device can be completely shifted backwards.

The high-quality drill rods allow for a minimum bending radius of 31 m, thus providing optimal conditions for precise drilling. For the short version, drill rods with a length of 1.0 m are used, while the long version is equipped with 1.5 m long drill rods. This allows the machine to be optimally adapted to the respective construction site requirements. The DJ 18 PIT features a practical drill rod storage rack, on which up to five drill rods can be carried directly on the machine. This ensures short setup times and efficient drilling operations.

The ergonomically designed control panel features a clear and well-arranged layout of all operating elements. All functions of the drilling rig are intuitively accessible, allowing for comfortable and precise machine control.
The integrated electrical control of the drilling fluid is continuously adjustable via a potentiometer, allowing the flush volume and drilling performance to be optimally adapted to the respective ground conditions. A 12-volt connection for a locating monitor is integrated as standard.
To enhance occupational safety, the pit launch carriage is equipped with an electric shock alarm, including a tester and grounding rod. This allows potential hazards from underground power lines to be detected early, increasing safety on the construction site.
The TERRA-PIT DJ 18 is powered by a modern 75 HP HATZ diesel engine compliant with Euro Stage 5. This powerful unit offers high reliability, low fuel consumption, and low emission values.
The engine speed can be continuously regulated between idle and full throttle, allowing for optimal adaptation to the respective drilling conditions.
Thanks to the two independent hydraulic circuits for thrust and rotation, maximum pulling and pushing forces, as well as full torque, can be utilized simultaneously. This ensures maximum efficiency, improved drilling performance, and maximum productivity, even under demanding operating conditions.

The MPS DJ 18 was specifically developed for use with the TERRA-PIT DJ 18, ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality drilling fluid. With a mixing capacity of up to 800 l/min and a powerful FMC pump with a delivery rate of 95 l/min, it provides optimal conditions for efficient HDD drilling.
The tank is equipped with an integrated bottom flush system that ensures continuous mixing and prevents bentonite from settling. This keeps the drilling fluid homogeneous and ready for use at all times, which increases drilling performance and reduces wear on the system.
Depending on project requirements, the MPS DJ 18 can be equipped with one or two tanks, each with a capacity of 2,000 liters. The modular design allows for optimal adaptation to various operating conditions and drilling projects.
