HDD Class: 30 t

The first fully electric 30-ton horizontal drilling rig

With the TERRA-JET DJ 66e, TERRA sets new standards in the world of horizontal directional drilling. TERRA's e-line is pioneering, efficient, and sustainable.

With a fully electric drive system, the DJ 66e delivers an impressive 300 kN (30 t) of thrust and pull force, high torque of 12,500 Nm, and a spindle speed of up to 230 rpm.

The electric motors for thrust and rotation operate whisper-quietly. Efficiency is significantly higher compared to hydraulic systems, allowing for significant reductions in operating and maintenance costs.

The DJ 66e is equipped with a fully electric power distribution unit. It consists of a rechargeable 100 kWh battery, multiple onboard chargers, and inverters that supply power to the electric motors. No fuel is required, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions.

The DJ 66e is the ideal machine for large-scale projects. Its compact design allows for fast operation and relocation. It meets the growing demand for environmentally friendly, emission-free, and low-noise construction site solutions.

The DJ 66e is designed for maximum productivity. Its external high-pressure pump with 1,000 l/min ensures a continuous flow of drilling fluid. All real-time drilling data is transmitted to a cloud via an integrated telematics system.

The DJ 66e is equipped with a patented pendulum suspension. This allows for groundbreaking entry angles of 19% - 58% (11° - 30°), meaning even pre-bent pipes can be easily pulled in.

The DJ 66e features a high-quality cabin that offers the operator maximum comfort. It is equipped with an integrated hands-free system, air conditioning, and a small refrigerator. Thanks to the enormous legroom, the drill master can sit comfortably even during long working days. The cabin offers perfect all-round visibility, with a clear view of the front drill entry, the clamping unit, and the rod magazine. The camera system also continuously transmits the drilling process to the screen.

The DJ 66e can be powered directly via the public grid, a generator, or a mobile battery unit. For power input, three phases of 400 V (AC) at 50 Hz and a current of 125 A are required. All components are grounded via an integrated safety system.

The DJ 66e uses a PowerLock connector for safe and efficient power transmission between the external power source and the machine's PDU. This connector allows for quick and reliable connection to the power supply, ensuring minimal setup times and maximum safety.

The DJ 66e features 32 drill rods, each 4.57 m long, with a bending radius of 60 m. An empty magazine can be replaced with a full one in no time. All steel components are hot-dip galvanized. The robust clamping unit of the DJ 66e is designed to allow even the Brownline gyro system to be pulled in and opened. This greatly simplifies working with the gyro compass. The breaking torque can be individually adjusted.

TERRA optionally offers an electric cable reel for the Brownline gyro compass. This enables cable-guided drilling. The cable is directly connected to the cabin monitor, allowing for user-friendly operation.

Your advantages

Emission-free drive

‍

The fully electric drivetrain of the DJ 66e leads to maximum energy efficiency and minimal operating costs. The drilling rig operates quietly and has a low CO2 footprint.

‍

Cost efficiency

‍

Operating and service costs are reduced to a minimum through electrification. Since no hydraulics are required for thrust and rotation, approximately 60% of energy is saved. Furthermore, electricity is significantly cheaper compared to diesel.

‍

Gyro compass (Brownline)

‍

Wireline drilling with a gyro compass is easily possible with the DJ 66e, thanks to its pre-equipped electric cable drum.

‍

Spacious Comfort Cabin

‍

The DJ 66e's cabin is spacious and features an intuitive operating concept. It is fully glazed, providing perfect all-round visibility.
