MINI-JET pit launch machine – maximum Performance in a minimum space
The compact TERRA MINI-JET drilling rig is one of the most powerful and productive pit launch machines of its class worldwide. Equipped with a 57 HP Hatz diesel engine, the TERRA MINI-JET delivers up to 6 tons of pull and thrust force and 1,600 Nm of rotational torque. With a flow rate of 52 l/min at a maximum pressure of 55 bar, boreholes up to 300 mm in diameter and lengths of up to approximately 50 m can be created, depending on the ground conditions. An optional pump capacity of up to 95 l/min is available.

Thanks to its compact design, the MINI-JET fits into a pit measuring just 1.3 m in length. The machine is easily lowered into the pit with the lifting device and secured in the pit with the bracing cylinders.
The feed and retraction of the drive carriage are achieved via a direct twin-cylinder drive. This is efficient, robust, and powerful. The twin cylinder operates in both directions with full force of 6 t (60 kN).

With the one-piece drill rods (L=0.5 m), which are manufactured from a single blank of high-quality steel, minimum bending radii of 15 m can be achieved. There are no critical weld seams.

Different ground conditions place different demands on drilling technology. Therefore, a wide selection of specially developed steering heads and drilling tools is available. The optimal tool can be used for every type of soil – from soft ground to challenging geological formations. All drilling tools are developed by TERRA.

MINI-JET stands for modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly installation of gas, water, and electricity lines. Both in urban areas with limited space and in rural regions, the system enables tailored solutions for a wide range of requirements. The trenchless construction method protects surfaces, shortens construction times, and minimizes the impact on residents, traffic, and the environment.

57 hp (42 kW) forms the heart of the system and supplies both the pit launch cradle as well as the mixing and pumping station reliably with power. Thanks to its robust design and high power reserve, it ensures trouble-free operation even under demanding construction site conditions. The combination of efficiency, durability, and high operational reliability makes this unit the ideal drive for challenging horizontal drilling projects.

TERRA's mixing and pumping stations quickly and reliably supply drilling fluid to the pit launch cradle. Powerful mixing and high-pressure pumps circulate the drilling fluid and reliably deliver it to the drill head of the MINI-JET. Thanks to their compact design, the mixing-pump stations can be transported and installed on a truck, saving space. The tank can also be lifted with a forklift or by an excavator or crane using four overhead lifting points.

The MJ 1600 can be equipped with an air percussion hammer. This enables drilling in rock. The optional compressed air connection for the hammer is integrated into the control panel.
Your advantages
Compact design
At just 1.2 m in length, the MINI-JET is one of the most compact pit drilling rigs on the market. With the bracing cylinders, the pit drilling rig can be easily secured in the pit.
Hydraulic cylinder (patented)
The feed and retraction of the drive carriage are performed by a telescoping, 4-fold cylinder drive. This robust and powerful drive system operates with full force (60 kN) in both directions. No complicated and wear-intensive chain hoist is necessary.
15 m bending radius
One-piece drill rods made of high-quality special steel are manufactured for the MINI-JET pit drilling rig. The minimum bending radius is 15 m – unique worldwide.
Drilling in hard ground (carve mode)
The threaded drill rods allow for steering underground, which is a significant advantage, especially in hard ground. Optionally, the pit drilling rig can even be equipped with a down-the-hole hammer for rock drilling.
