TERRA wins the 2026 TYTAN Award with the TERRA-JET DJ 66e
Award for all-electric HDD technology
A special achievement for TERRA: the TERRA-JET DJ 66e was honored with the prestigious 2026 TYTAN Award in the "Product of the Year" category. The all-electric HDD drilling rig outperformed other nominated technologies in the trenchless pipeline construction sector. The TYTAN Awards are among the most established industry honors in the field of trenchless technology. The "Product of the Year" award recognizes innovative products and technical developments that provide new momentum for the industry.
TERRA-JET DJ 66e – HDD performance reimagined
With the TERRA-JET DJ 66e, TERRA has developed a fully electric HDD drilling rig in the 30-ton class. The machine features 300 kN of thrust and pullback force, a maximum torque of 12,500 Nm, and a spindle speed of up to 230 rpm. For demanding drilling operations, an external high-pressure pump is also available, offering a flushing capacity of up to 1,000 l/min at 80 bar. The electric drive concept was developed with the goal of increasing the efficiency of HDD technology while significantly reducing local emissions and noise levels on the job site. The DJ 66e's electric Power Distribution Unit includes a 100 kWh battery, onboard chargers, and inverters to power the electric drives.
A milestone for TERRA
Winning the 2026 TYTAN Award confirms the path TERRA has taken with the electrification of its HDD drilling rigs. After several years of development and extensive testing, the DJ 66e represents a new generation of high-performance drilling technology that consistently combines high power with electric drive systems. For TERRA, the award is more than just recognition for a single machine: it is an acknowledgment of the development work of the entire team and an important milestone on the road to the future of trenchless pipeline construction. We are proud of this award and would like to thank all the employees, partners, and customers who have supported the development of the TERRA-JET DJ 66e.
