With the new TERRA-JET DJ 66e, TERRA is expanding its portfolio in the field of trenchless drilling technology with a powerful, fully electric HDD drilling rig. The machine combines high drilling performance with an emission-free drive and has been developed for demanding horizontal drilling projects where performance, precision, and sustainability are equally essential.

Full power – fully electric

The DJ 66e represents a new generation of high-performance HDD drilling rigs. Its fully electric drive concept enables operation with zero local exhaust emissions while simultaneously reducing noise levels on the job site.

Users do not have to compromise on performance: with 30 tons of pullback and thrust force and a maximum torque of 12,500 Nm, the DJ 66e provides the power required for challenging horizontal drilling.

The modern power electronics feature a rated output of 100 kW. Energy is supplied via a 3 × 400 V AC, 50 Hz, and 125 A connection.

High-performance technology for demanding HDD drilling

The development of the new TERRA-JET DJ 66e took over two years. It was an intensive development period that has truly paid off: the result is a powerful, fully electric HDD drilling rig that combines modern drive technology with TERRA's proven performance. At its heart is the Power Distribution Unit (PDU). There is no diesel engine and no hydraulics for the electrically operated feed and rotation motors.

With the DJ 66e, TERRA is consistently pursuing the path of electrification. The goal is to develop high-performance solutions for trenchless construction that meet the increasing demands for sustainability and emission reduction – without compromising on performance, reliability, or practical utility.
