50 years of TERRA – an anniversary to remember

Celebrating 50 years of TERRA together

‍

In September 2025, TERRA celebrated with customers, dealers, partners, and employees to mark its 50th company anniversary. Numerous guests accepted the invitation to Switzerland, making this special day a great success. The focus was not only on five decades of company history, but above all on the people, technologies, and ideas that have shaped TERRA – and that will continue to drive the company forward in the future.

Experience technology – TERRA up close

‍

Throughout the day, guests were treated to various stations across the TERRA premises. Instead of simply presenting machines and technologies, visitors were able to experience the different processes directly in practical application. One focus was on the development of the all-electric TERRA-JET HDD drilling rigs. Guests gained an insight into the development of the new machine generation and learned more about the electrification of the TERRA-JET product range. At another station, the TERRA-JET DJ 40 AT demonstrated its performance during a practical HDD drilling operation. The demonstration gave visitors the opportunity to follow the entire drilling process at close range and exchange ideas directly with TERRA specialists.

Pipe rehabilitation with 40 tons of pulling force

‍

Trenchless pipe rehabilitation was also part of the program. The cable bursting method was demonstrated live using the TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 400 . The powerful bursting system with 40 tons of pulling force impressively showed how existing pipelines can be renewed without excavation. These practical demonstrations in particular provided plenty of room for technical discussions and the exchange of experience between customers, dealers, and TERRA employees.

50 years of history – and looking ahead

‍

A key moment of the anniversary was the keynote speech by the management team. It looked back on TERRA’s development over the past five decades – from its beginnings in 1975 to its current status as an internationally active manufacturer of trenchless pipe installation machinery. At the same time, the focus was on the future. Topics such as electrification, the further development of HDD technology, and new solutions for trenchless pipe installation show that, even after 50 years, technical innovation remains at the heart of TERRA.

From technical program to shared celebration

‍

Following the demonstrations and presentations, the technical part of the anniversary transitioned seamlessly into the social part. With freshly prepared BBQ skewers, drinks, and good conversation, guests were able to wind down the day together. In the evening, the company premises transformed into a true anniversary party. A live band and a special performance provided entertainment and a fantastic atmosphere. Guests celebrated, laughed, and toasted to 50 years of TERRA well into the evening.

An anniversary thanks to our customers, partners, and employees

‍

The 50th-anniversary celebration was much more than just a company milestone for TERRA. It was an opportunity to bring people from different countries together, celebrate long-standing partnerships, and look back on five decades of company history. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the customers, dealers, business partners, and employees who celebrated this special day with us. After 50 years, our commitment remains the same: to develop innovative and reliable technologies for trenchless pipe installation – and to shape the future of the industry together with our partners. Here’s to the next 50 years of TERRA!
