HDD drill rig model
The first all-electric HDD drill rig, the TERRA-JET DJ 1e, is now available in miniature. This model set, built from bricks, is a detailed 1:20 scale replica of the TERRA-JET DJ 66e, bringing the technology of trenchless pipe installation into your living room, office, or playroom in a fun way. Thanks to the integrated electric motors, the DJ 1e can be moved and operated via radio remote control. Numerous movements function just like the real-life original, turning the model into a small, fully operational HDD drill rig that you can not only look at, but actually drive and operate.
The set includes detailed assembly instructions that allow you to build the TERRA-JET DJ 1e step by step. Many individual bricks come together to create a fully functional miniature of our electric HDD drill rig. The original technology is impressive; the mini version makes it tangible. The 1:20 scale TERRA-JET DJ 1e represents exactly what the original stands for: innovation, electrification, and modern trenchless technology.
The integrated magazine holds five drill rods. These can be easily reinserted into the magazine from above to refill it.
Even the model features an important detail from the real TERRA-JET DJ 1e: a rack for the feed system. The feed motor engages with the rack and moves forward and backward along it—functioning on the same principle as the original machine.
There is real technology under the hood, too: this is where the power distribution unit of the TERRA-JET DJ 1e is located—just like in the original. This makes it clear, even in the details, how consistently the model reflects the technology of the all-electric HDD drill rig. The cabin can also be rotated 90° electrically.
The drill mast can also be adjusted electrically via radio remote control, just like the original. A special technical detail was included here: the patented pendulum bearing of the drill mast has also been replicated in the model.
The radio remote control can be used to operate the following functions:
- Both tracks – forward, backward, and steering
- Cabin – extend and retract
- Drilling ramp – adjust position
- Drilling mode – rotate drill drive
- Drive carriage – move forward and backward
