TERRA-JET DJ 40 - 189 HP power pack
The TERRA-JET DJ 40 sets new standards in the HDD industry. More performance, higher productivity and a long service life were required by our customers. The DJ 40 is characterized by all of these features. Equipped with an 189 hp Perkins diesel engine (Euro stage V), the TERRA-JET DJ 40 provides up to 18 tons of thrust and pullback force, 8,000 Nm of rotational torque and a maximum spindle speed of 255 rpm on the drill pipe. With a total of 228 m of drill rods on board, extremely long distances can be covered.

The DJ 40 cabin can be hydraulically swiveled. It can be swiveled from 0°‐ 45°, even when the operator is sitting in the cabin. This allows the drill master to choose the best sitting position for him.

The DJ 40 hood can be opened completely. It is insulated on the inside, which results in a reduced noise level. The service-friendly design allows quick access to the main components.

The DJ 40 is equipped with a patented oscillating drill ramp. It allows entry angles of 19% - 36% (11° - 20°). The steel beads with vulcanized rubber inserts always stay on the ground.

The DJ 40 has 50 drill rods on board that are 4.57 m (15 ft) long. This results in a total length of 228 m in the magazine. If you want to drill longer, the magazine can be refilled with the reload system. Or the empty magazine is simply replaced by a full one. The bending radius of the premium drill rods is 44 m.
The bentonite is collected and removed via a three-stage, patented tub system. This keeps your drilling rig and construction site clean.

Intelligent operating elements such as speed control, carve mode or cruise control make drilling much easier for the operator. The ADBSe electronic automatic pull-in system in combination with the Auto-Tork controls the pullback speed within milliseconds.
Optionally, cable-guided drilling can also be carried out with the DJ 40. An electric cable drum including a lateral platform is attached to the DJ 40 - ideal for gyrocompasses such as Brownline or Paratrak.

The DJ 40 magazine is equipped with 50 drill rods, each 4.57 m long. The magazine can be replaced in a very short time. Additional drill rods can be refilled via the side loader.
Large comfort cabin
The DJ 40 offers one of the largest cabins on the market and is equipped with a hands-free system. The cabin can be rotated 45° and offers a perfect all-round view thanks to the full glazing.
Maximum bentonite flow rate (510 l/min)
The DJ 40 is equipped with a 510 l/min high-pressure pump, which results in high productivity. The feed pressure is checked and recorded using sensors.
Steel crawler chassis
The DJ 40 is equipped with a steel track chassis. This ensures maximum stability. Driving and installing are carried out via the radio remote control.
